DROP-OFF
Lucky you! You get first peek at
everything coming into the sale. If you have an eye for
detail and don't mind looking through clothing, then this is
the job for you. Check-in workers inspect merchandise
to make sure it meets the acceptable items policy.
Organizers are needed too. Those people would be responsible
for hanging clothing on racks by size and gender and putting
other items away in their proper place. If you can look at a
bunch of "stuff" and know just what to do with it, then this
is the job for you.
PRE-SALE/PUBLIC SALE
Check-out workers
will remove tags, count merchandise, calculate totals and
bag the items. Sales floor volunteers will walk the floor,
monitor shopping activity (hint, hint), help customers and
keep the sale neat and tidy.
BREAKDOWN/SORTING
These volunteers are
detail oriented who are good with numbers. We usually put on
some music and get right to work as soon as the 1/2 price
sale is over. All items need to be sorted by consignor # and
grouped together for pick-up. This is also open for older
teens. Accuracy is extremely important as we want to make
sure that consignors get their items and only their items
back.
Volunteer
commitments are taken very seriously. If you miss your shift
it hurts the sale as a whole since we are depending on you.
Consequently, workers who do not show up for their scheduled
time(s), will only receive 60% of their total sales and be
unable to work in future sales. |
