Items you will need:

  • White 3x5 Cards (No Torn/Cut Pieces of Paper)

  • Plenty of 1" or larger safety pins

  • Blue or black ink pens (No Gel Pens)

  • Red Marker

  • Clear Packing tape

  • Zip-loc Bags (Storage & Gallon Size)

  • Wire Hangers (Not Plastic)

  • Rubber Tub/Laundry Basket (For Transporting Items)

Use only 3x5 cards following diagram below. Do not use torn paper or cards where information has been crossed out, whited out, written over or changed in any way. This is for your protection and will eliminate any confusion for shoppers. Use 1" or larger safety pins to attach garments to hangers and tags to garments. No straight pins!! They can get caught on other clothing and damage it as well as get stuck in a shopper's hand. Price in $1.00 increments on higher priced items and .50 cent increments on lesser priced items. We reserve the right to re-price an item if it does not fall within these guidelines.

A good pricing guide is 1/4 to 1/3 of its original price taking into consideration the condition of the item.

Items you
do not wish to be sold at 1/2 price on Saturday, must have a
red dot in the lower right corner of the tag. We assume no responsibility for any other color or wording.

Children's sizes should be numeric only (no S-M-L). If you're unsure of the numeric size, please compare to other clothing you have. Be sure to separate 4 from 4T, 6 from 6X, etc...

Infant clothing with a size range like 12-18 months should be grouped with the smallest size in that range. Maternity items should be labeled by letter only (XS-S-M-L-XL). Please give a detailed description so that in the event the tag is separated from the item we can match it up quickly (eg. "Red Osh-Kosh Fleece Sweatshirt" vs. "Sweatshirt".

Lastly, write only on the blank side of the 3x5 card in either blue or black ink and write legibly to insure you get credit for the item. If you make a mistake, do not cross it out...simply use a new card. This will prevent confusion and deter theft.

  Hanging & Bagging Items

CLOTHING: All clothing must be on wire hangers with the hook facing left (like a ?). If the size is under 24 months then only plastic store hangers, not the round tubular kind, may be used. Secure clothing to wire hangers as shown.

Jeans, shorts, pants and skirts should be hung with safety pins on the top section to the left and right of the hook. Clothing sets need to have the shirt/top placed on the hanger first, then the skirt/pants pinned behind the shirt/top (not hidden under) Make sure the safety pins attach to the hanger and not just hang from the shirt. This will prevent your clothing from getting damaged. Safety pin any matching accessories to the top hook.

Make sure to snap snaps, button buttons and zip zippers. The nicer your items look, the more likely they are to sell.

The reason we ask you to use wire instead of plastic tubular hangers is that they take up less space on the racks allowing us to display a larger selection and because safety pins will not attach to the plastic ones. They are also more flexible and will not break. Plus you can usually get them FREE from your local dry cleaner.

SHOES:  Please do not bring shoes in boxes. Shoes can be easily secured together by tying the laces together in a bow, using large safety pins or zip ties. Items that cannot be secured in this manner may be placed in a large zip-loc bag with the tag placed inside with it. Please make sure all shoes are clean and that tennis shoes have been freshly laundered. Remember to only bring 5 pair max per consignor. As an added precaution if you'd like, you can use masking tape and just write your consignor number and price on it and place a strip on the sole of each shoe in case the tag gets separated.

TOYS WITH ADDITIONAL PARTS:  This is where the zip-loc bags come in handy. Place any parts that are not securely attached to the toy in side the bag and tape it shut with packing tape. Then secure the bag to the toy with packing tape. Secure the 3x5 consignor tag to all toys with packing tape. Keep in mind that although children attending the sale are not permitted to open or play with toys, their still will be the temptation to do so. We are not responsible for lost or damaged toys so secure them as well as possible.

Grab Bag Toys - These can make great stocking stuffers! Grouping 5 or 6 Matchbox cars or several Barbie outfits together are a great way of clearing out all the small toys around the house. These should be priced based on a need to get rid of them rather than on trying to make a profit. Many parents will grab a bag or two and use as a bribing tool to get their child to leave the masses of toys alone.

SMALL ITEMS:  For items such as socks, bibs, bottles or anything else that cannot be placed on a hanger, zip-loc bags need to be used. Place the 3x5 consignor tag inside the bag with the information facing outward and unobstructed and secure the opening with packing tape.

LARGE ITEMS:  This would include things like bikes, outdoor toys, baby equipment, etc...  Secure 3x5 consignor tags with packing tape. Items that have fabric like strollers or car seats can have the 3x5 card pinned on where it can be easily seen.

BEDDING:  The original bedding bag is the best way to display it. If you don't have it then you can use another clear bag and pin or tape the tag to the outside.

BOOKS/GAMES/PUZZLES/VIDEOS:  These items can easily be damaged using pins or tape so here are a few tips for the best way to display them.
  • Books - Place inside a zip-loc along with 3x5 card facing forward and secure with packing tape. They sell well when grouped together so 3-4 Disney Princess books is a great idea. If you need to group several books together and they won't fit into a zip-loc, then you can use saran wrap or other clear cling-type wrapping material. Make sure to secure 3x5 card to the outside of the wrap. For books with covers that will not be easily ripped by tape, attach the card with packing tape on the back cover along the top and bottom of the card.

  • Games/Puzzles - Boxed games and puzzles need to be sealed shut on all 4 sides with a small piece of tape. Make sure all parts/pieces are included. You can then tape the 3x5 card on the bottom of the box.

  • DVD/VHS/CD - These items also need to be sealed shut with tape. Please make sure that the case matched the media. Place your 3x5 card on the back with packing tape.

  • Video Games/Systems - These items will be kept on display near the checkout table. If you don't have the original box then systems are best displayed by placing in an open top box with all accessories showing and then wrapped in saran or other clear plastic wrap. Again, 3x5 cards are secured to the top with packing tape. Video games need to be placed inside a zip-loc bag with 3x5 card inside and facing forward. Secure the opening with packing tape.
